With just ten days to go, anticipation across the UAE is reaching its peak as Abu Dhabi prepares to host what is set to be the most significant Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in its history. Yas Marina Circuit, already recognised as one of the sport’s most spectacular season finales, is gearing up for a weekend that promises record attendance, high-stakes racing, and an unmatched entertainment programme.
This year, the championship narrative arrives in the capital with rare intensity. Following Max Verstappen’s victory and McLaren’s dramatic double disqualification in Las Vegas, the 2025 title fight remains wide open. With only 24 points separating the top contenders and 58 points still available, a three-way showdown between Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Verstappen may well be decided under the Yas Marina lights, a fitting climax for the 24th and final race of the season.
A Global Audience Drawn to the Capital
Last year’s Grand Prix welcomed 192,000 fans over four days; 2025 is poised to surpass that record. Spectators from 105 countries are expected to arrive in the UAE.
Across Yas Island, hundreds of specialists and more than 40,000 people are currently finalising preparations, from track engineering and grandstand structures to the curation of fan zones, hospitality, food and beverage operations, and logistics. For Ethara, the event’s organiser, this is the culmination of a full year of planning.
“Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the most anticipated weekend on the region’s sporting calendar,” says Saif Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara. “More fans, more racing, more entertainment – the 2025 event promises to be remarkable.”
A Weekend That Rivals Global Spectacle
Ethara describes the event as “the region’s Super Bowl,” a comparison that feels increasingly apt. The 2025 edition features its most ambitious entertainment lineup yet across the Yasalam presented by e& programme. Global stars including Benson Boone, Post Malone, Elyanna, Metallica, and Katy Perry will headline the After-Race Concerts at Etihad Park, while the official after-parties will feature sets by Calvin Harris, Idris Elba, and Keinemusik.
A More Sustainable Grand Prix
The 2025 event also marks a significant step toward Yas Marina Circuit’s long-term ESG goals: reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50{68ed13eea30464b7e29e2c383bc283d93f414c8f46d51f1f29d8d544faeeaeb9} by 2030 and running events on 100{68ed13eea30464b7e29e2c383bc283d93f414c8f46d51f1f29d8d544faeeaeb9} renewable energy by 2035.
Single-use plastics, bottles, cups, and more, have been eliminated across the circuit and Etihad Park in favour of sustainable alternatives. Guests will find free public water stations, canned drinking water, and reusable cup systems. Food and beverage partners are switching to canned beverages, paper cup,s and reusables.
Further, Yas Marina has expanded its renewable energy infrastructure: tripling temporary solar capacity, increasing battery storage sixfold, and running all temporary generators on 100{68ed13eea30464b7e29e2c383bc283d93f414c8f46d51f1f29d8d544faeeaeb9} biofuel. This follows the 2024 launch of the permanent solar car park, already supporting 30{68ed13eea30464b7e29e2c383bc283d93f414c8f46d51f1f29d8d544faeeaeb9} of the circuit’s energy requirements.

From dramatic championship stakes to headline concerts, from sustainability innovation to a global fan base, the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is positioned to be the most dynamic edition in its 17-year history. As Formula 1 prepares for a new regulatory era in 2026, Yas Marina Circuit once again becomes the stage on which history may be written.
With sell-out crowds, world-class performances, and a title potentially decided on its asphalt, the capital is ready for one of the most electrifying weekends in global sport.
