2,300 kilometres. Six cities. Two countries. One defining drive.
Audi chose not to unveil its all-new Q5 in a showroom or under a spotlight, but on the open road. The brand marked the regional premiere of its third-generation SUV with one of the Middle East’s most ambitious launches to date: a five-day, 2,300-kilometre journey across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Beginning in AlUla and culminating in Dubai, the convoy of Q5s tackled highways, desert stretches, mountain bends and coastal routes — each kilometre designed to demonstrate how the car adapts to the diverse realities of driving in the region.
“The Middle East is a region that moves – fast, far and with intent,” said Rene Koneberg, Managing Director of Audi Middle East. “From AlUla to Dubai, the Q5 delivered with precision and confidence, proving its place in a landscape defined by momentum, diversity, and ambition.”
Alongside Koneberg, Audi Middle East’s Marketing and Communications Director, Elmir Arnautovic, highlighted the experience of testing the Q5 in real-world conditions:
“Covering 2,300 kilometres in just a few days gave us the chance to experience the Q5 in every condition the Middle East has to offer. From high-speed highways to winding desert roads, the car felt composed, responsive, and ready for anything.”
Built for the Region
The Q5 enters the market with upgraded mild-hybrid technology, a fully digital cockpit, and advanced driver-assistance systems — but Audi was keen to show these features in motion rather than on paper. With temperatures soaring beyond 45°C, and without the comfort of freight transport, the convoy proved the SUV’s resilience across borders, terrains, and climates.
Each stop, from AlUla’s heritage paths to Dubai’s expressways, reflected the car’s adaptability to both place and pace — an SUV shaped for how the Middle East drives today.
A Glimpse at What’s Next
In a surprise finale on Sir Bani Yas Island, Audi also offered an exclusive preview of the all-new Q3, set to arrive in 2026. Carrying the same design language and digital focus as the Q5, the compact SUV marks the next step in Audi’s largest regional product offensive to date.
the Launch Experience
Eight Q5s covered every kilometre of the route, with no transport trucks in sight. For Audi, this was more than a launch; it was a statement of relevance — bringing the car to life on the very roads its drivers will navigate daily.
