Louvre Abu Dhabi’s autumn programme is for those who enjoy art, movement, mindfulness, and innovation. Produced through a curated collection of experiences, the events are available for a limited time only. Set beneath Jean Nouvel’s iconic dome, these activations allow participants to discover the museums’s tranquil rhymth whilst engaging with art, history, and architecture.
1. Book an Easel: The Artist’s Studio Experience
Until 19 October 2025
The museum’s Book an Easel experience transforms the Art Studio into a serene, creative retreat. Participants begin with a guided tour of selected masterpieces, observing how light, colour, and form shape emotion. Afterwards, guests return to the studio to translate that inspiration into their own artwork.

All materials are provided, and light refreshments from Aptitude Café are served directly to the studio, ensuring uninterrupted focus. The workshop welcomes both beginners and experienced artists and is designed to encourage process over perfection, a celebration of creativity itself.
Who it’s for: Visitors seeking a mindful, hands-on connection to art in a calm setting.
2. Kayaking at the Museum: Art from the Water
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Kayaking Experience remains one of the city’s most poetic outdoor activities. Guests paddle through calm waters surrounding the museum, taking in the play of light through the dome’s lattice as reflections dance across the sea.

The route offers unique views of the building’s architecture, particularly striking at sunrise and sunset. Guided tours ensure both safety and insight, with instructors sharing details about the museum’s structure and design philosophy throughout the 60-minute journey.
Who it’s for: Those seeking a balance of fitness, mindfulness, and photography-worthy views.
3. Drawing at the Museum: A Sketching Experience Inside the Galleries
This experience turns the museum’s halls into an open sketchbook. Led by museum educators, Drawing at the Museum sessions invite visitors to observe and sketch directly from the artworks on display.

The focus is not on technical accuracy but on perception, how one sees line, shadow, and composition. Each class blends gentle instruction with quiet reflection, surrounded by centuries of artistic mastery. It is a study in slowing down, seeing clearly, and drawing with intent.
Who it’s for: Art enthusiasts looking to deepen their appreciation for classical and contemporary forms.
4. Private Photography Experience: A Portrait Beneath the Dome
In collaboration with SenseTime, Louvre Abu Dhabi offers visitors the chance to document their visit in artistic style through a 30-minute private photography session.

Professional photographers capture each guest’s journey through the museum’s most striking spaces, including the geometric canopy that filters light into intricate patterns. The session concludes with a fine-art print to take home — a tangible memento of one’s time inside a global architectural icon.
Who it’s for: Visitors looking to elevate their memories into art, couples, families, and solo travellers alike.
5. Private Catamaran Cruise: Louvre Abu Dhabi by Sea
The museum’s new Private Catamaran Cruise, created in partnership with Nami Marine, offers a perspective few ever see. Guests board silent, electric-powered vessels that glide around Saadiyat Island and the museum’s perimeter.

Sailing between 10 AM and 10 PM, this private tour reveals the interplay of water, shadow, and steel that defines Jean Nouvel’s design. Onboard refreshments and soft ambient music enhance the mood, allowing guests to absorb the museum’s architecture in stillness and luxury.
Who it’s for: Those looking to pair cultural immersion with understated sophistication.
6. Quantum Dome Experience: Time and Imagination
Until June 2026
Merging art and technology, the Quantum Dome Experience is a collective, full-body virtual reality journey. Visitors step inside an immersive dome that reconstructs three historic cities – Imperial Rome, Medieval Baghdad, and Mughal India, through motion sensors and spatial projection.

No headsets or screens are needed; movement itself becomes the interface. Offered in Arabic, English, and French, the experience redefines interactive learning, bringing history to life through motion and sound.
Who it’s for: Tech-curious travellers and families seeking education wrapped in spectacle.
7. Reflected Horizons: A Pavilion of Light and Pause
Designed by LOCAL, Reflected Horizons is a pop-up pavilion located directly beneath the Louvre Abu Dhabi dome. The structure draws inspiration from the geometry of the museum’s ceiling and its connection to light and water.

By day, it offers shade and tranquility. By night, the pavilion glows softly, mirroring the shimmer of the surrounding Gulf. The adjoining outdoor lounge serves bespoke coffee, ice cream, and light bites — ideal for a pause between galleries or a reflective moment by the water.
Who it’s for: Design enthusiasts and visitors seeking a calm, scenic space to unwind.
A Season of Expression
Through these seven experiences, Louvre Abu Dhabi extends its mission beyond art appreciation to artful living. Each activation — whether an intimate creative workshop or an architectural voyage — invites the visitor to participate rather than observe.
